Chocorua Lake

On Thanksgiving we drive to northern NH to visit with relatives. This year, we stopped along the way to have a look at Mt. Chocorua. Last leaves

The colors of Autumn in New Hampshire can be almost overpowering. The intense reds, oranges, and yellows contrast with the unchanged green foliage. I like the end of the fall foliage season when just a few colorful leaves resist gravity for a little longer than their neighbors. Sometimes the leaves resting on the ground are sprinkled with frost crystals for just a few minutes after sunrise. Last Friday was that kind of morning.

Portsmouth at night

I happened to have my camera with me last Friday evening for an event in Portsmouth, so I thought I'd experiment with some long exposures of the local landscape, or actually the riverscape. These photos are of the Route 1 bridge to Kittery, Maine, and the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard.

A small group of dedicated individuals have started the weekly Front Street Market to promote agriculture, the arts, and the small businesses of Rollinsford, NH, and the surrounding area. Here are a few images from the July 20, 2008 event.
