Reclaimed
It is interesting to watch as nature works to reclaim territory occupied by man's constructions (as long as it's not my house). This building has been around for 130 years or so, and various parts of it seem to be suitable habitats for various plants to grow. This area faces north and east, and gets very little direct sunlight. It seems just right for a little spontaneous community of ferns.

Reflections
While walking across the Makem bridge this morning, I noticed some very interesting reflections in the ripply water. Consequently, I haven't gotten any work done today, but I've been having a good time processing these images.

Quebec 2010 part 2
More stuff from Quebec: Joan of Arc, some plants and flowers from her garden, including one strange specimen with black leaves and berries that look like olives, and a scene along the river between storms, which seem to occur every hour or so. And, some sculptural artwork from a gate on an underground parking garage.

Quebec 2010 part 1
I like to photograph in the same place more than once. We've been to Quebec City several times, and it's easy to be overwhelmed with the history surrounding you everywhere you go. This city has so many interesting little details, such as window boxes on beautifully maintained multi hundred year old houses, rustic hardware, a cat in an open window, and sunlight during a rain shower. I will have a lot of images to play with.

Hydrangea
It's a good year for the Hydrangea in our yard. There are lots of colorful flowers and dark green foliage, so I figured I ought to document it in case next year isn't so good.

Rainy day
I intended to photograph an outdoor concert yesterday, but the intermittent rain made that a risky proposition for electronic equipment. I wanted to photograph something, though, so I took the screen out of an upstairs window and shot a few images of the front yard in the rain.

Portsmouth stroll
Yesterday was such a nice day, we decided to go walk around in Portsmouth. We explored an area of the waterfront just south of Peirce Island, where we had never walked before. The side streets are lined with elegant little homes and nicely landscaped yards containing many flowering spring perennials, trees, and shrubs. It was nice to see some of the scenery that most tourists, and probably a lot of locals, don't know about.
