Finally Snow
So it finally snowed yesterday. I thought I'd try to get some snow photos without actually taking my camera outside to get wet. I shot these through windows, both open and closed, and while leaning over the wood stove (briefly).

Boston Visit
We spent the afternoon in Boston yesterday. It was the first time I had been to the Boston Public Library, so I had to capture a little of the architecture of the building, especially contrasting with the Hancock Tower.

Cocheco Ice
This morning when I came to the studio it was low tide on the Cocheco River, and the ice that had formed overnight when the water was higher was lying shattered on the rocks.

Mill scenes
Yesterday I photographed a few details here in the mill. The bricks looked like they were covered with frosting since there are so many layers of paint. The valve has interesting shapes and textures, which to me is adequate justification for a photograph.

Panes in the Ice
While having soup at the Loaf & Ladle in Exeter today, we admired the ice coating the inside of the windows. It is nice to be able to make some ice photos without going outside in the bitter cold.

First Frost 2012
Usually at this time of year the subject of my photos would be snow related, but we don't have any snow. January 1 we did have a nice sparkly frost, and since I didn't finish raking the leaves last fall, there was a nice collection of frosty leaves to capture before the rising sun melted the ice crystals. Even the annoying knotweed looked pretty nice.
